Located in the heart of the entertainment district, the Shangri-La is one of our wedding photographers’ favorite hotels to shoot in. The building is one of the tallest in the city of Toronto and offers tons of natural light, which makes for beautiful photos. The hotel features a number of different event spaces, so couples will be able to find the perfect one depending on how many people are attending.
The ballrooms are simple in design, will full walls of windows that let in tons of natural light. The simplicity of them is anything but boring though. It offers a great blank canvas for couples to decorate and make their own. The beautiful buildings in the background make for a great scenic city wedding.
Having a wedding in a hotel offers a number of advantages. The bride and groom are able to get ready in rooms, which means our wedding photographers aren’t charging you as they rush around Toronto to capture it. Our personal favorite room at the Shangri-La is the Museum Room, also known as the heartbreak room because everyone falls in love with it. It features soaring ceiling adorned with crystal chandeliers. The room is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows that flood it with light. It’s nearly impossible to take a bad photo in this room.
The Shangri-La offers tons of opportunities for stunning wedding photos. In addition to beautiful ballrooms for the reception and ceremony, the hotel rooms are high-end, which shows in the getting ready shots. The hotel is both contemporary and classic, with subtle Asian touches, that provides great backdrops for photos.
