7 Wedding Projects to Do with Your Partner During Lockdown

Ontario has been under some sort of lockdown restriction for around two years now. This has put a damper on the wedding industry and driven many engaged couples a bit crazy. If you’re looking for ways to keep your cool under quarantine and keep your wedding on track here are some great projects to tackle!  Take advantage of the extra time at home and do some of these wedding tasks with your significant other.

Create a Vision Board

Before you can begin to plan your wedding, you have to figure out what you want your big day to look like. This is where vision boards come in. A vision board is essentially just a collection of images and ideas that help you envision your wedding day. You and your SO can do it the old fashion way by cutting out pictures from magazines, or you can make a Pinterest board. Vision boards are a great way to find wedding themes, DIY projects, or other fun ideas.

Craft a Wedding Playlist

Music plays a big role on the wedding day. You’ll have to select a song for the entrance, first dance, father-daughter dance, and more. This can take some time, so why not work on it while we’re all stuck at home! You and your finance should fire up a Spotify playlist with your favorite tunes and favorite any ones you’re considering for key moments. Try to find a mix of slow jams and dance tunes that span different eras so that there’s something for everyone.

Learn to Dance

If you’re worried about dancing in front of your family and friends, take advantage of the time at home to practice your moves. There are tons of helpful YouTube videos you and your partner can watch to learn a few steps.

Tackle DIY Projects

Do-it-yourself projects are a great way to save money, but they can be time-consuming. The good thing about lockdown is that now you’ll have more time at home to tackle some of them. Things like addressing invitations, making centerpieces, or creating a slideshow can all be done at home. Just make sure you’re taking on DIY projects that you actually have the skill and time to finish before the big day.

Research Vendors

Finding the perfect vendors for your wedding day isn’t as easy as many people think. There is a good amount of research and communication that goes into it. During the lockdown, you and your partner should set aside some time to find the perfect wedding photographer, caterer, hair and makeup artist, and more. The good news is that vendors are probably more available to discuss things right now too!

Iron Out Wedding Details

Being stuck at home is a great time to iron out all the little wedding details you might have put off. Things like finalizing the guest list, creating a seating chart, writing a thank you toast, and more are small things but can become taunting if left until the last minute. Use the extra time lockdown gives you and smooth out everything you can before your big day.
